Aloha to everyone:
Mele Kalikimaka Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!!!
We are again at the end of one year and soon we will be in the beginning of another. The end of the year holidays gives us a chance to look back and to look forward.
The Honolulu Mens Shed, in spite of the limits to participation that the COVID-19 guidelines presented, and with the help and leadership of its members, managed to keep the Shed’s mission in tact. In fact, we made many significant improvements along the way. We gained new members so that we ended 2020 with over 100 members. The Shed is more organized, has upgraded electrical service, has added LED lighting to create a brighter more inviting workspace, held our first cutting board class, and has added, primarily through donations, several new pieces of equipment (thickness sander, laser engraver and CNC arriving in January) making our shed, the first one in the USA, one of the best if not the best equipped sheds anywhere.
Got a project? Want to create something using local tropical woods? Want to learn more about woodworking? Come to the Shed in 2021! The Honolulu Mens Shed is poised to not only continue its mission to serve senior men, but to expand that mission so that more members can become active and included in the activities of the Shed. Look for more woodworking classes, community projects and an expanded retail presence in 2021.
To each of you and your ohana, may you have the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest and Healthiest 2021!
See you at the Shed!
