Jingle Sizzle!!! HO! HO! HO!

Aloha to one and all!

‘Twas the weekend before Christmas
    And through the island,
Decorations are hung with the greatest of care.
The Shed is open and a Holiday Sizzle is in the air.
So, prepare your dishes and appear with good wishes
On Saturday the 21 of December.
It’s a pot luck day, so be merry and bright,
not to be there is just not right!

Saturday, December 21 is Pot Luck Sizzle.  Bring your favorite holiday dish (or appetizer or dessert)!  Eggnog anyone?

Greek Fest lunch a HUGE success!

It couldn’t get anymore authentic. All the best was there with much of it made by our members. Who knew we had such culinary talent hiding among us!

Our next International Lunch is November 16, 2019. Let us know your ideas. Italian? French? German? Finnish? Irish? Indian?

It’s TV time. Come to the Shed and be a star!

A TV team from Hawaii News Now will be at the Shed on October 16th to do a story about the Shed for KGMB.  We’ll need some help to prepare the Shed. This Saturday, October 12, is a work party to get some finishing touches done to the store area and the talk story area. Come and lend a hand.

Then, Wednesday, October 16th, the TV team will be at the Shed at 10AM for about and hour and half. Come in your Shed shirt and show our Hawaii community what the Shed is all about.

It’s Tai Chi, Man!

Randy Wong, Tai Chi instructor

Randy Wong, who has been teaching Tai Chi for over 30 years, will be teaching Tai Chi at the Honolulu Mens Shed each Saturday at noon. It’s great for anyone’s health and well being. Plus, it’s fun! As long as you’re a member in good standing there’s no charge. See you at the Shed!

Work Party = Success = Mahalo!!!!!

One big MAHALO to everyone who helped this past week with the Shed work party. My personal thanks to Charlie McLaughlin whose skills, dedication and hard work made it all possible.

It was hot and humid, the two motor broke down (but was made running again with the efforts of a couple motor heads) and in the end it was a great success! Frames were built for running overhead power and vacuum, shelves were built and our wood inventory was much better organized. We made room for a couple of new work benches, we had donuts and pizza. It was a week that was what our Shed is all about.

There’s more to do and we’ll be putting finishing touches on what we started this week. So, come and help, come and be a part of your Honolulu Mens Shed.

See you at the Shed!!!

Mahalo, Michael Trojan, President, Honolulu Mens Shed
